We all have some sort of travel plans or dream destinations we hope to visit and for me, traveling abroad is something I am forever thinking about and LOVE to do. I have been fortunate enough to have already travelled to some incredible destinations across the globe and each time I touch down in a new location the travel bug just fires up within me even more!
One continent I am yet to travel to (but is HIGH on my travel bucket list) is USA. I almost can’t believe I haven’t been there yet! So, in an attempt to manifest my ultimate travel experiences I am putting together some of the hot spots I want to see before I die in a series of ‘My Travel Bucket List’. Pack your suit case – let’s go on vacay!
Some of you mightn’t know this but I am a die-hard country music fan and of course the number one stop on my bucket list to the US would have to be Nashville – the country music capital of the world. Hello my people!
I’ve been reading a few blog posts about the amazing city and I’ve found a number of fabulous recommendations for places to stay in the city including the iconic Hermitage Hotel. Of course, being that this is a ‘bucket list’ we aim high when it comes to our budget 😉 so this 5-star, AAA rated hotel is not off limits for at least a night or two!
The hotel boasts distinctive Beaux-Arts style architecture and offers an ‘old-world blend of classical Italian and French Renaissance features (source). The Hermitage Hotel was first constructed in 1908 and became known as Nashville’s first million-dollar hotel. Hello big spender.
For a more long-term style of accommodation I found this incredibly stylish Air BnB rental in East Nashville. I could totally cozy up here for a week or so while we explore the city and surrounds! I’ve heard this part of town has a huge array of eateries, bars and shopping to explore which is obvs high on the priority list.

Food, glorious food! One of the best parts about traveling is the FOOD (and coffee), am I right? I’ve heard some great things about Nashville eateries and I am dying to try these little hot spots out:
Five Daughters Bakery
Just as the name reads, this is a family-owned bakery run by Stephanie and Isaac Meeks with five daughters in tow. The bakery offers what only appears to be the most AH-MAZING looking donuts! I’m not a huge donut lover (my boyfriend Travis is) but I wont turn down a good foodie opportunity abroad (I’ve eaten frog’s legs for dinner, nothing will stop me now). Apparently they even offer Paleo and Vegan donut options in the cutest looking store I ever did see. I’m adding this to the list and can’t wait to try all the donuts!

I’ve heard from a couple of bloggers, including the lovely ladies over at A Beautiful Mess, plug this restaurant for great food so I couldn’t leave it off my ‘must-visit’ list! The decor alone looks to die for and apparently the meals are perfectly sized for sharing so you can take a pal (or your beau) and settle in for some divine eats!

SEE & DO
I keep seeing images of this gorgeous bowling alley pop up across most travel guides for Nashville so I can’t look past this place. According to the website Pinewood Social is ‘a place to be morning, noon or night.’ It looks like a seriously cool hang out featuring a bar, eatery, bowling alley, two dipping pools, pool patio and bocce ball court. How soon can I get there?! Travis loves to bowl so I am throwing this on top of the ‘to-do list’.

Of course If we’re in Nashville we can’t miss the opportunity to visit an authentic Honky Tonk bar and listen to some live music! I’ve heard one of the best spots for this of an evening is Robert’s Western World. They’re open everyday of the week offering live music daily!
I’m a bit of a mural art fan and I’ve been seeing so many instagrammers shoot the best pictures in front of murals across the globe. I’ve always been a fan of the ‘I Believe In Nashville Mural‘ but I had no idea the city was home to so many other awesome murals. Thanks to Here&Now blog (who has put together the ultimate guide to mural walls across Nashville) I’ve now got a whole list of incredible mural destinations to snap a sneaky selfie in front of. Why not?!
There is no way I’m going to Nashville and NOT visiting Reese Witherspoon’s flagship store Draper James! I have dreamed about shopping at the DJ store since I first read about its impending launch while I was on a train traveling across the German countryside on my last trip abroad! Everything about this store screams Southern class and I cannot wait to drop some serious dollars in this retail hot spot!
There you have it folks! My first bucket-list round up of must-see destinations I want to visit in Nashville. I seriously could go on forever as I’m only scratching the surface when it comes to this amazing city! I’ll be back on the blog to post another destination I can’t wait to visit soon.
In the meantime, have you been to Nashville? Can you recommend somewhere I should go? Let me know in a comment below!
