My favourite free fonts & how to get them for yourself!

Being a graphic designer means I get to work with lots of gorgeous images and objects and this includes typography. Personally, I LOVE type. When I first started studying design typography was one of my favourite subjects – there’s just so many ways to make things beautiful with type!

I think having a theme of well designed fonts across your business, blog or brand helps keep a strong brand consistency and helps your audience recognise your brand when they see anything related to your business!

Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite “go-to”  serif and san serif fonts. And, I’ll let you in on a secret – you don’t have to be a designer to have access to some pretty awesome fonts available on the web!

Bebas  //   Gotham  //  Carton slab  //  Nexa rust  //  Galileo  //  Bitter  //
Arapey  //  Airplane  //  Geo sans light

Follow the links to any of the listed fonts and you can easily download them to your laptop or desktop to use for yourself.

One thing to remember when downloading and using fonts is to ensure you are aware what type of license your download carries. Some fonts have a restricted licence and strictly stipulate you can only use them for personal use. Other fonts will carry an open license or a license for commercial use (like for the use in logos and works you can sell as your own).

Some of my go-to font sites include Font Squirrel and Dafont  or even the Creative Market but you can find hundreds of different websites across the web where you can purchase or download fonts for FREE!

Get out there and check them out and let me know how you go!
