3 Reasons Why You Should Join A Facebook Group To Grow Your Business

When I first signed up to Facebook back in what feels like the dark ages now I was a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure about the whole social media thing because it all seemed too hard and a bit scary. Fast forward to 2017 and now it is one of my most regularly used tools especially when it comes to my business.

Facebook and social media is SO much more than just uploading happy snaps from your latest overseas vacation or reconnecting with your long lost relatives – it is a powerful resource and platform for growing your business and an awesome way of connecting and networking with other business people.

Over the past two years I have noticed a steady increase in people creating and joining groups on Facebook and I couldn’t be more on board!

So what is so great about Facebook groups for business?

Facebook groups (when done right) are an AH-mazing way to meet like minded business people who are looking to offer (and receive) advise and support they may not have access to on the regular. It’s like having a whole network of business coaches readily available to lend an ear when you have a question or a topic you need to discuss. PLUS, they are 100% free – no sign up fees or payment plans required. #winning

3 reasons why you should join a Facebook group for business

1. Connection & potential clients
I’ve met SO many wonderful people in a number of Facebook groups I am active in and some have even led me to business opportunities and have helped me expand my client list! By sharing your business knowledge with others in the group you can potentially become a trusted resource for anything related to your industry and it can lead to potential sales or clients.

One thing to remember while you’re active in these Facebook groups is you’re not in the group to continually spam everyone with your latest offering. A lot of the group admins will clearly stipulate the rules of the group so as to keep the community vibe of the group more social and supportive rather than spammy.

2. Motivation & inspiration
Motivation can sometimes be difficult to come by – particularly if you work as a solopreneur. I’ve found during the times when my motivation is low and productivity is suffering I can find inspiration in all of the incredible things the other group members are working on or have to offer. The members are also always keen to offer up encouragement when I need it too which is fab!

3. Service exchange
Some things in business can be pricey but getting things done doesn’t always have to cost you an arm and a leg. Some business people are happy to offer a service or advice to other members of the group when they receive something in exchange. An “energy” or service exchange doesn’t cost you anything – you can simply offer up advice, tips or a product knowing you will receive the same in return! Awesome, right?!

One of the most recent groups I became a member of is It’s The Now Community for Female Entrepreneurs which has been fabulous with helping me connect with other female biz bosses in all different fields! Plus an all-time favourite group I’ve been a member of for probably more than a year now is the Online Biz BFFs group created by Melyssa Griffin. This group has been like a brains trust for me. Whenever I have questions regarding software, email list building, blog ideas etc I can turn to this huge community of business people and know I will get some great feedback, reviews and advice! I highly recommend this group!
